A QUICK JOURNEY TO THE HALF GIRlFRIEND

The novel begins with the dramatic conversation of a young Bihari boy Madhav who was owner of Bihari thoughts and Bihari english too but later improved his english and the novelist chetan Bhagat who himself jumped into the beginning of story as one of the character .

Madhav was disappointed alot after loosing his gorgeous high profiled girlfriend of delhi origin from which he was  having the relationship from the st. stephens college of delhi and to whom he thought to be  dead till now as she had said in her last letter to Madhav that she was suffering from lung cancer .Riya was from a very rich family and left the college in her second year at age of 19  for her marrige with a rich boy Rohan . In that more than a year of duration In the college Madhav fell in love with her .

When Madhav met Bhagat in the hotel at patna ,he handed the all the journals written by her to him  inspite of that Bhagat was refusing to take that and  Madhav was  doing so  to get rid of from her sweet but painfull  memories .Madahav narrated the whole story to Chetan and Chetan suggested him smartly and gently as Krishna to pandavas in Mahabharata and ultimately drawned the conclusion that she may be alive after making madhav to read the journals again and listening to him .

This was as the intermission to the novel  and Madhav leaved chetan with a promise that he will find her and he will never quit from finding him as to quit is not in his gene .

The journey of Madhav for finding riya is heart touching and emotional too and reminded to that of majnu by laila in hindi literature .

Finally he found her in New york's  small bar as  it was her dream that she had told to Madhav  in the college days that  she want a life of that type . After a mind shaking effort and they settled to patna and they ran a school which got grant by foundation of Bill Gates and have high fame .Earlier the school was ran by Madhav;s mother .

The time span when there is description in the novel that how he met first with riya in the college's basketball court , how he managed his criss cross biharian english  with butter like fluent english of a high class delhi girl and how much difficult it was to pass the time in the party at Riya 's home where he was feeling he was  below the standerd in the people of there found to be the interesting ones .

The sarcasm ,comments and dialogues by the novelist were fabulous and enjoying alot  e.g.madhav said to himself "  Rohan gets Riya and Madhav gets biscuits" .
